Knysna had the pleasure of hosting Yacht M/Y Katharine, in our estuary since 31 December. While enjoying the last few hours of 2019, our guests on the beach at Under Milkwood had the pleasure of watching the majestic 201ft CRN motor yacht make its way to the harbour at SAN Parks, where it was docked for almost two weeks. Knysna Sea Rescue says it was an honour to be involved with piloting her through The Heads.
Mike O’Neill, the captain of the yacht is a Knysna local, and ex crewman from the Knysna Sea Rescue base.
In a Facebook post on January 10, O’Neill posted:
“It has been an honour and a pleasure to bring M/Y Katharine to Knysna, and the whole experience has been truly memorable. Sadly, all good things must come to an end and tomorrow we will be departing once again. Thank you to everyone who has made our time here so fantastic and for your heartwarming hospitality.”
From all our Knysna locals, we wish you fair winds on your forward journey.
