This annual event gives all South African citizens the opportunity to visit one of the 21 national parks for free. This year the National Parks Week will also include weekends.<\/p>\n<p>Since starting the programme in 2006, some 438 361 South Africans have been afforded the opportunity to enter national parks and SANParks hopes to see numbers grow this time around.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the parks include Addo Elephant National Park, Bontebok National Park, Camdeboo National Park, Garden Route National Park, Karoo National Park, Mountain Zebra National Park, Table Mountain National Park, Tankwa Karoo National Park and West Coast National Park.<\/p>\n<p>Free entry excludes Namaqua National Park and Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Cableway in Table Mountain National Park.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that free access to the parks does not include free access to accommodation facilities and other tourist activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important for South Africans to visit and know the importance of national parks.
